An IR remote and a free Roku app helps you to control your Roku TV. Before you start using it, you need to understand how to set up Roku TV.

Before proceeding for the Roku TV setup process, you need a wired and wireless internet connection and a Roku setup account.

Simple Guide: How to Set Up Roku TV?

#1: Insert Batteries in the Roku Remote

The Roku TV remote comes with a pair of lithium-ion batteries. Open the back lid and insert the batteries correctly. After that, reattach the back lid.

#2: Power Up the Roku TV

The standby indicator LED on the Roku TV screen must be ON. Press the POWER button via your Roku TV remote. The stand by indicator changes for a moment. After a while, the first Roku setup screen appears.

#3: Select Your Preferred Language

When your Roku TV is powered ON, first of all, you need to choose your preferred language. Scroll up and down the list to choose your language, and then hit on the ‘OK’ button.

#4: Choose Your Country

To clinch your Roku TV has all features available in your location, select the country where you want to use it.

#5: Choose Home Use

Till the time you are setting up your Roku TV, choose the ‘Set Up for Home Use’ option.

#6: Connect Roku TV to Your Wired or Wireless Network

If you are using the wireless network, select your WiFi from the available networks, and enter the passphrase key. If you do not find your wireless network, choose ‘Scan again to see all networks.’ If you want to see your wireless network passphrase key as you type, hit on the ‘Show Password’ option. It helps to prevent entering the wrong wireless passphrase key.

If you used the wired or Ethernet network, plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the WiFi router and another end to the Roku TV ethernet port.

#7: Download the Latest Roku Firmware

Once you connect your Roku TV to the Internet, your Roku TV automatically downloads and installs the latest version of Roku firmware and then reboot it.

#8: Create a Roku Setup Account and Activate your TV with Roku Activation Code

You must have to link your Roku TV to the Roku setup account to activate it. You need a 6-digit Roku activation code to activate your Roku account. The account keeps tracking all your Roku activities and allows you to add free and purchased Roku TV channels.

#9: You’re Ready!

You are now ready to watch your favourite shows or movies on Roku TV.
